JMJ Academy was founded in 1998 to fill a void in the Catholic homeschooling arena.

The inspiration for JMJ Academy can be attributed to the late Fr. John Hardon S.J., one of America's great Catholic authors, and theologians. Fr. Hardon S.J. was once asked if it is okay to take advantage of Protestant homeschooling services. His concern was for the children, and the potential proselytizing they would have to face in a continued Protestant educational setting. Also, parents who join such groups in many cases are urged to sign a Protestant faith statement, which will deny certain Catholic truths.

Fr. Hardon's advice was simply, "if you don't have these services, then create them." That is what we have attempted to do since 1998.

JMJ Academy's Mission Statement:

JMJ's mission is to assist Florida Catholic families in their homeschooling endeavor to provide religious and academic excellence to their children, while maintaining a proper legal standing with the state of Florida.

JMJ, although comprised of Catholics loyal to the Church and the Holy Father in Rome is not affiliated with any particular church or diocese. Because JMJ Academy physically resides in the Orlando diocese, we have met with Bishop Thomas Wenski to share with him our stated goals. The Bishop has been most supportive of homeschoolers, and we look forward to a continued positive relationship.
